Serums with Retinoids

Granactive Retinoid® is a form of retinol, and key ingredient in our serums that clears out pores and improves the overall evenness of your skin’s tone.

It’s ideal for every type of skin, but particularly so for more mature skin. This is because retinol encourages cell generation and collagen formation.

FAQs

What is Retinol?

Retinoids, or retinol, is an umbrella term for compounds that feature vitamin A. It has anti-ageing properties, helps unclog pores, and evens out your overall complexion. So, what does retinol do? A retinol serum’s main purpose is to stimulate collagen production in the skin, which is naturally occurring but begins to decline in your mid-20s. This helps produce a natural, healthy glow and reduces the appearance of fine lines.

How to Use Retinol

Retinol can be an intense thing to introduce to your skin, so start with caution. You only need to apply a tiny amount to begin with – we recommend starting with half a pump of our Granactive Retinoid® night cream, the Flawless Nightly 2% Retinoid Serum. Apply this all over your face using the 13-dot technique for even distribution. A retinol serum or retinol cream is safe to use with any type of skin, but proceed with care if your skin is particularly sensitive.

How Often Should You Use Retinol

The ideal time to start using retinoids is in your mid-20s when your natural collagen production starts to plateau and decline. When you first start, it’s important to ease into retinoid usage so as not to overwhelm or dry out your skin. We recommend using half a pump of Granactive Retinoid® serum every other day and gradually build up to daily use after 2-4 weeks.

How Long Does Retinol Take to Work?

It can take a few months to see the effects of retinoids on your skin, but it’s well worth sticking it out! Even though it starts working right away, and you may see results sooner, you should allow at least 12 weeks of proper retinoid use before expecting to see major changes in your skin.
