Lip moisturiser, lip balm, and other lip care are products with your lip health in mind, typically designed to soften and soothe cracked, sore lips.

Lip balms have been around for hundreds of years, with the first ones being made from beeswax and animal fat. Ours include lanolin and ceramide, an essential component of your lip barrier. These ingredients work together to create a highly effective, hydrating lip balm that will last you ages – a little goes a long way!

How to Use Lip Balm

There are a few different ways you can make the most out of your lip balm:

• Try using it as an overnight treatment to prevent chapping. Put a layer on before going to sleep, and let it soak in overnight.
• Use it as a primer for lipstick! A lot of lipsticks can be quite drying – particularly ones with a matte finish – so it’s important to give your lips an extra bit of hydration beforehand with some lip care.
• Don’t feel limited to your lips! A lip balm can also be used on patches of dry skin like your elbows to reduce sore cracks, or on your cheekbones for an extra shine.

Simply apply a healthy layer of hydrating lip balm wherever it’s needed, and let it work its magic.

The key difference between lip moisturisers and lip balm is their consistency. A lip moisturiser contains more water, meaning it gets absorbed for extra hydration to the skin. Lip balm, on the other hand, is thicker and waxier. Lip balm does not get completely absorbed, meaning it leaves a protective, hydrating layer on top of your lips.

Due to the nature of lip balm, it can change consistency slightly depending on the temperature it’s kept in. If you’re having difficulty getting your Flawless Lip product out of its tube, pop it in your pocket for a bit or warm it with your hands. The lanolin can sometimes stiffen in the tube, but warming it up a little is enough to make it malleable over and over!
