How should I apply Flawless Nightly 2% Retinoid Serum?

After cleansing, pat skin gently dry. Apply Flawless Nightly 2% Retinoid Serum - start off with a small amount (½ a pump), applying every other day using the #13dottechnique to apply evenly over the face. Massage until fully absorbed. Apply moisturiser on top once fully absorbed if needed.

Will Flawless Nightly Serum thin my skin?

No. Retinoids actually thicken the skin’s epidermis and dermis, hence their benefits in the signs of premature ageing.

Am I safe to have facial waxing while using Flawless Nightly Serum?

No.

Is it safe to use Flawless Nightly Serum while pregnant or breastfeeding?

Flawless Nightly Serum is not suitable for use during pregnancy, however all Dr Sam's products are safe to use while breastfeeding.

Will I experience irritation using Flawless Nightly Serum?

All Actives may require an adjustment period, especially if you have sensitive skin. The key is to start using smaller amounts less often and build gradually. For guidance, watch our Retinoid Revelation series. If you do experience irritation (redness, flaking, dryness) take a break and use our tips on managing Retinoids at the beginning of your journey to reduce the intensity. Discontinue if irritation persists.

Can I use Flawless Nightly Serum around my eyes and lips?

No, avoid putting this product around the delicate eye area or on your lips. Try applying a barrier layer of moisturiser around the eyes (“moisturiser goggles”) and lip balm on lips for extra protection before applying Flawless Nightly Serum.

Can I use Flawless Nightly Serum during summer/warmer months?

Yes, provided you observe good sun protection behaviour. Watch Dr Sam’s video on retinoid use in summer.

Can I use Flawless Nightly Serum if I have dry or sensitive skin?

All Actives should be used with care if you have dry or sensitive skin. Watch Dr Sam's Retinoid Revelation Series for tips on getting started.

Can I combine Flawless Nightly Serum with other actives such as AHAs or BHAs?

We would not advise this when starting to use Flawless Nightly Serum. Watch our Retinoid Revelation Series for more guidance.

I’m allergic to aspirin - can I use Flawless Neutralising Gel?

If you’re allergic to aspirin (acetylsalicylate) do not use this product as it contains salicylic acid (a beta hydroxy acid).

Should I only use Flawless Neutralising Gel if I have a new blemish?

No - it’s a good way to keep new blemishes at bay and it’s great at tackling clogged pores and post-breakout dark marks too.

Dear Dr. Sam team, about four months ago, when I started using your products, my skin looked terrible. For years, as an adult, I've suffered from impure skin with deep inflammation and red pimples.
